Rims: The Tandem rim is designed for the high demands of tandem use. The 31mm tall deep-section, single cavity, alloy rim offers excellent lateral and torsional stiffness with the additional toughness required of tandem teams. The brake sidewalls are CNC-machined for smooth, consistent braking performance and though the rear wheel is disc ready, both wheels can be used with rim brakes. The combination of aerodynamic performance and minimal rotating weight makes Rolf Prima Tandem wheels the lightest, fastest low spoke count tandem wheels available.

Hubs: The Tandem rims are laced to the Tandem proprietary hub, designed and manufactured in the USA. Both hubs are fully CNC machined and feature oversized axles, increasing the wheel durability and stiffness without increasing the wheel weight. Optimized flange contours provide full spoke elbow support, increasing spoke life. All hubs feature bearing preload adjustment on both front and rear hubs and spec precision cartridge bearings with low drag supplementary contact seals. All Tandem rear hubs are compatible with disc brake and rim brake. Only Tandem-Disc model front hubs will accept an ISO 6-bolt rotor and must be used with a disc brake approved fork.

Freehubs: CNC machined, electroless-nickel plated freehub body has 3 independently sprung steel.

Spoke & Nipple: The Tandem wheel set features paired, 14 gauge custom bladed spokes with internal alloy nipples to create a quicker accelerating, faster climbing wheel with superior, long-term durability. Self-locking thread technology ensures wheels stay true longer. Our Patented, Jacketed Nipple Design™ reduces spoke bending loads and wind drag, increasing spoke life and contributing to a more durable, stiff and aerodynamic wheel system.

Extras: Rolf Prima Tandem wheel systems include custom reinforced rim tape and steel quick release skewers.
